Abstract

MONETARY THEORISTS believe that there will be a much greater inclination to borrow if the interest rate is low.1 This is an acceptable proposition, for no-one could sensibly deny that the demand for credit would probably be infinite if the nominal interest rate were nil and no repayments were required.
