Abstract

In seeking to improve productivity performance and underpin long-term growth and development, many countries are placing more emphasis on innovation. This emphasis can only become stronger in the future, as serious issues in such areas as climate, energy, water, and poverty challenge the global community to find new approaches. Putting in place policies that stimulate the creation of new products and services, new processes and operations, and new ways of working, has become a pressing task for many governments.
