Abstract

Imagine a job that takes you places you have never been before. A job that invites you to meet interesting, new people. A job beyond the monotony and drudgery of doing the same thing over and over again. That offers you freedom and flexibility. This is what temporary, flexible work in its imaginary version may be like, or what it promises to be. Now, imagine a job that requires you to move around according to the demands of your employer, where you never really have time to get to know your workmates, where the pay level is uncertain and the future as well. You are expected to bend and adapt to the shifting demands of the client and the job at hand. This is another version in temporary, flexible work, Neither if these versions is truer than the other. There are as many worlds of work as there are temporary employees. Almost.
