Economy, Environment, Energy: Worlds Apart, or Three Perspectives on the Same World

Abstract

How best can we respond to issues that seem ambiguous, unbounded, and increasingly omnipresent to our world? Behind these traits lies change. Change surrounds most of what we decide to do, often so much so that by the time we are ready to do something, the something has become something else. Businesspeople point to the unfairness of suppliers and customers turning into competitors. Students describe their interest shifting from getting accepted to a college, to getting something acceptable from college. Voter attention is moving from how to spread democracy, to why it’s not working at home.
