Abstract

The point was made long ago that the rate of change in society is fast, however one may measure it, and that this condition is both dangerous and potentially beneficial. Consider the curious professional responses to this condition. Have professionals really understood the implications? More specifically, do practitioners now think and act differently? Were they perhaps befuddled by all the data and somehow missed the significance?
