Abstract

Indonesia is a large developing country of about 150 million people and a GDP of about US$ 75 billion. It possesses a variety of energy resources, making the country more than self-sufficient. The country is a member of OPEC, with a capacity of about 1.7 million barrels a day crude production, but is currently restricted to an output of 1.3 million barrels a day. Capacity production could still improve, depending on the vigour of exploration and market incentives for development and production.
