Abstract

Affection is a key basic necessity. According to the neurologist, Antonio Damasio, of Portuguese origin, human being’s reactions and emotions are related to and associated with the body, while feelings, as in the case of affection, are more related to the mind. For this reason, he explains that when someone experiences emotions, it is an individual process, which, unlike affection, is a process of interaction in which two or more people demonstrate such feelings of friendships and love. It is normal that in certain daily situations, or even in exceptional situations, parents, familiars and related people, tend to overprotect or give affection without any kind of limit. Affection has been considered necessary and vital for the development of any human being (Solorzano y Virgen, 2014).
