Abstract

In an increasingly digitising environment Information Technology outsourcing is becoming critical for companies. Despite outsourcing growing importance there are number of concerns with cloud services contracting, such as data security and loss of intellectual property. Moreover, companies may have to choose between various types of outsourcing to support their digitization objectives. These different decisions may have a bearing on service provider business model. In this chapter the approaches and factors influencing outsourcing are examined. In addition, business models decisions in the delivery of outsourced Information technology services discussed from service provider's perspectives. The business model decisions are reviewed using as lens the canvas elements what, how, how much and who. These questions are the basis upon which the literature analysis is used to shed light on Information Technology services providers' business models. Furthermore, service providers outsourcing perspective from South Africa are presented.
