Abstract

El propósito de esta investigación es mostrar la relación entre la evolución de las finanzas públicas y el crecimiento económico en las distintas entidades federativas que integran la República Mexicana; a través de un análisis para datos en panel entre los años 2005-2009, se explora si las variaciones en la deuda pública local de los años recientes incide de forma positiva en el producto regional. El análisis de la relación entre deuda y producto es esencial no sólo para la descripción de la trayectoria de ambas variables, sino también porque permite la validación de la sostenibilidad del déficit público.
