Abstract

En la discusión sobre las posibilidades de desarrollo del cultivo agroindustrial de la palma aceitera en la Amazonía peruana se plasman varios de los principales debates modernos sobre modelos de desarrollo rural ambientalmente sostenibles y socioeconómicamente inclusivos. La historia de la expansión de este sector y los diversos problemas que hoy enfrenta reflejan, además, muchas de las limitaciones institucionales del actual Estado peruano para definir con claridad su rol y un planeamiento articulado de políticas públicas que encaminen estrategias de desarrollo con objetivos concretos.
