Subjects and sources of international law and their relation to cities

Abstract

After the general introduction, the chapter examines the notions of sources of international law as well as subjects/legal persons/participants of international law, all the while considering cities and, against this background, the normative value of the effects of cities’ informal law-making. These are the fundamental, introductory issues that require attention in the context of city participation in international decision-making processes (including international law-making).
