Abstract

There are many different ways to generate ideas for research projects - an integral part of most academic careers. In this chapter, I discuss how to generate ideas for research projects that meet the priorities of interesting but also important in other ways, be it economically, socially and so on. I also discuss how to tackle the inevitable pitfalls that research projects bring.
