Abstract

The domain of entrepreneurship education is not immune from research agendas in mainstream entrepreneurship forming around the idea of neuroentrepreneurship. The increasingly used contrast between the novice and expert, as a means of locating the developmental focus of entrepreneurship education is one such agenda that connects directly to notions of neuroentrepreneurship, vis-à-vis contemplating desired change in cognitive architecture. This chapter is focused on addressing a related, but much broader question. How does our brain develop in ways that enable novices to become more expert? Therefore, the idea of neurolearning is unpacked in the context of the required breadth of knowledge, experience, and mindfulness that would underwrite any such disposition towards developing entrepreneurial expertise. Over the past 100 years, many scholars have been concerned with how humans make mental adjustments in complex social situations. This chapter draws on work from philosophy, theology, education, psychology, and neuroscience to develop a neurolearning agenda for entrepreneurship education.
