Abstract

Asset management is integral to the entire lifecycle of a building. Throughout the operation and maintenance stage, the asset management process generates a significant amount of information crucial for decision-making. However, conventional technologies used for asset management have become outdated and insufficient. Fortunately, innovative digital technologies now enable asset management to be more efficient and intelligent. This study concentrates on developing a framework for an Asset Information Management System (AIMS), analysing traditional information systems for asset management, exploring building information modelling (BIM)-based asset management, and investigating novel technologies for asset management. The study assesses advanced technologies for asset management and proposes new solutions. Additionally, it illustrates asset information management and the AIMS, classifies systems for asset management, summarizes their features, and analyses asset data modelling approaches. Finally, the study provides recommendations for further development in asset management.
