Abstract

Primarily written for teachers and students of comparative law, this book functions as a workbook rather than a conventional textbook. This chapter brings it to conclusion, highlighting its aim to redefine the traditional textbook on comparative law by contrasting traditional methodologies with critical approaches. Active engagement with the provided toolkit for critical comparative practice across various legal fields encourages readers to explore beyond covered content, fostering a spirit of bricoleurship. The book advocates a comprehensive and critical approach to the practice of legal comparison that extends beyond law to include non-legal factors in addressing contemporary challenges such as the climate crisis, artificial intelligence, and reproductive rights. The conclusion explains the intentional omission of in-depth coverage on emerging issues like criminal law reforms or climate litigation, emphasizing the book’s limited scope and design for usage in the classroom. It highlights the legal interconnectedness of environmental, constitutional, tort, consumer protection, corporate, criminal, administrative, family, and property law in addressing global warming together with the non-legal layers that are explored in this book.
