Abstract

Techno-Anthropological Technology Assessment (T-ATA) is an eclectic, pragmatic and hybrid approach to technology assessment. In the chapter we present how we should tinker and assemble different approaches to assess technologies to create appropriate technological solutions. We are inspired by French anthropology and philosophy from the 1960s, namely Claude Levi-Strauss and Guy Debord, because introducing to the paradoxical structural and situationist approaches to world and reality. We build on Grunwald’s hermeneutic TA, because we find it central and crucial in any sort of assessment activity. At the same time, we stress the importance of normative, political, and ethical approaches, because world and reality need technological solutions that consider better world and better life for humans and non-humans.
