Abstract

Chapter 1 explains the aims and objectives, main research question and scope of the book. It also provides an outline of the book and serves to prepare the reader for the importance of oil and gas contracts by explaining briefly the main types of oil and gas contracts, which are broadly defined as ‘upstream’ contracts.
