Abstract

The authors present lean as a compensatory tool for neurodiverse people. They analyse the particular traits of the three statistically most prevalent neurodiversity conditions (autism, dyslexia, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) and explore how several lean practices might serve as a compensatory mechanism for neurodiverse people. The chapter highlights the potential impact that lean management might have on neurodiverse employees’ work lives based on multiple human factors, defined as “all physical, psychological, and social characteristics of the humans, which influence the action in sociotechnical systems”.
