Abstract

The BRRD seeks to coordinate and harmonise the procedures for resolving failing credit institutions and certain investment firms at the European level. The BRRD contains tools to deal effectively and sufficiently early and quickly with unsound or failing credit institutions and certain investment firms, so as to ensure the continuity of their critical financial and economic functions, while minimising the impact of their failure on the economy and financial system.
