Abstract

This chapter examines the experiences of LGBTQ+ victim/survivors of domestic abuse seeking protection orders in the Australian state of Victoria. The chapter argues that the legal system places unique barriers to protection for LGBTQ+ victim survivors. The chapter explores how these unique barriers work to compound those which are experienced by victim-survivors in heteronormative relationships.
