Abstract

This chapter delves into the factors influencing the work-life balance (WLB) of migrant women, categorising them into four main groups: (1) person-related; (2) family-related; (3) work-related; and (4) environmental/country-related factors. Through a qualitative approach involving interviews with 12 Lithuanian migrant women residing in four different European countries, these factors were explored empirically. The findings highlighted the significance of family-related elements, such as spouse support, and person-related factors, including the ability to plan, at the individual level for achieving WLB. Work-related factors, particularly the flexibility of work, were also identified as crucial. Additionally, country-related factors, such as the availability of childcare services and children’s clubs, emerged as highly important for achieving the WLB of migrant women.
