Abstract

This chapter provides a summary of the ideas in the previous 5 chapters. Additionally, the Chinese approach towards women's football is discussed as the Chinese national women's team has a stronger track record than the men's team. Other parameters, such as amateur access to football pitches as well as grassroots activity, are presented. The idea is that this is potentially a key differentiator compared to European countries. Furthermore, the time perspective is reviewed where Chinese club owners have shown signs of impatience and de-funding of clubs. The top Western clubs have been active for a long time, and replicating their success requires a longer time horizon in terms of return on investment expectations.
