Abstract

The unpredictable necessities of today’s modern world force organizations to minimize their negative externalities and also deepen the impact of socially responsible activities on society towards a more sustainable future. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) presents a great tool for this aim. Therefore, this study aims to examine how CSR addresses these equality problems within the scope of sustainable development goals (SDG) by presenting business cases from various industries. These cases that have gender inequality, people with disabilities, poverty alleviation, and equal access to resources for everyone in their focus, all aim to reduce inequalities in the scope of SDG-10. Furthermore, the chapter reveals that all collaborative efforts appear to offer the potential to make huge differences in reducing inequalities for all human beings irrespective of age, sex, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion, economic, or other status. While the cases reveal that CSR approaches of selected companies differ in terms of the execution and focus due to the varying needs of their respective industries, their efforts share certain commonalities in showing initiative and facing grand challenges in inspiring ways.
