Abstract

This chapter explores the wider research landscape of mental health and wellbeing for staff in higher education and building of resilience through academic-centered approaches. The foci of the chapter are to first, offer conceptual narratives and empirical data on contributors toward poor academic mental health and wellbeing and second, outline individual academic and wider organizational resilience strategies. The aim is to present the reader with evidence-informed resilience practices collectively employed by academic staff and their organizations with a lens on academic-centered approaches that can be used to support mental health and wellbeing in higher education.
