Abstract

The chapter summarizes the discussions, empirical findings, and theoretical models proposed over the course of the book. It highlights that the need to understand the spatial aspects of university entrepreneurial ecosystems is rooted in the asymmetric opportunities available to academic spinout companies across university entrepreneurial ecosystems, and more generally for all firms situated within any sub- or ecosystem. By recognizing this asymmetry, the chapter develops a number of propositions to address them. It concludes by outlining the agenda for future research.
