Abstract

Boris & Rufus is a Brazilian animation series produced by Bell Studio in Blumenau, aimed at children aged six to ten. This teaching case addresses the company as a born-again global firm, its rapid spread across Disney channels in Latin America and digital platforms, and the dilemma of turning the characters into licensable products worldwide. Boris & Rufus aired first in 2018. In 2023, episodes are available in 80 countries and dubbed into multiple languages. However, in 2023 the licence of its products remains restricted to the Brazilian market, bringing dilemmas to keep the business sustainable in the coming years.
