Abstract

Reconciliation as referring to ‘the end of days’, pointing beyond Kant’s horizon of ‘perpetual peace’, to ultimate atonement. Is this contingent on religious belief or is it also inherent to a secular account of reconciliation? The role of ritual in bringing this dimension in sight. Peace offering, or indeed law offering, as a ritual.
