Abstract

The purpose of this chapter is to identify customers’ behaviour changes after the Covid-19 pandemic, to investigate how those changes influenced the implementation of sustainable and innovative last-mile delivery by CEP companies, and what lessons were learned from it. The following methods were used in the analyses: quantitative study among e-customers in Brazil and Poland, multidimensional statistical analysis and qualitative study among CEP representatives. The study shows increased e-purchases delivered at home in Brazil and to parcel lockers in Poland. Also, clusters of e-customers were identified regarding their delivery choices: the Poland e-customers choose more environmentally friendly delivery methods, while in Brazil there is no relation between the buying frequency and the delivery method. The chapter contributes to the research on e-customers’ and CEP companies’ behaviours in vulnerable situations that have never been observed before. The research results also reveal the CEPs companies’ motivations for introducing more environmentally friendly deliveries.
