Abstract

Chapter 6 presents an analysis of the migration and occupation trajectories of interviewees born between 1982 and 2000, i.e., the Millennials. Here we reveal the particular importance of parental support to venture into home ownership and the changing role of London in relation to migration, occupation, and housing trajectories. The analysis across the three cohort chapters reveals a changing in the importance of context underpinning both decisions to migrate geographically and of occupational trajectories. We do not find evidence to support the traditional neoclassical migration theory, nor do we find evidence to support Florida’s claims.
