Abstract

In this chapter, drawing on insights from the philosophy of Hans Georg Gadamer on the “enigma of health,” Bongmba discusses Covid-19 (SARS-CoV-2), with reference to the Cameroon and African response, highlighting the complex issues around local remedies invented in Cameroon by Archbishop Kleda, controversial pronouncements on the illness by Pentecostal leaders, and engaging leadership to combat the spread of the virus by some African governments, the African Union, and the African Center for Disease Control to fight the pandemic.
