Abstract

This chapter discusses current and emergent debates on the experiences of women who become homeless. The first section summarises the definition, dimensions and experience of women’s homelessness while the second critically assesses the state of theoretical debates on women’s homelessness. The final section of the chapter considers research priorities in addressing gaps in the existing evidence base on women’s homelessness as well as the strategic and service provision shortfalls that need to be tackled in order to effectively prevent and reduce homelessness among women.
