Abstract

This concluding chapter summarises the arguments and conclusions set out in the earlier chapters. It argues that high quality, sustainable, and inclusive infrastructure boosts productivity growth. Today, both public infrastructure investment and private sector investment are important for development finance, and the key issue is how to coordinate different development strategies and thus promote trade and economic growth. It concludes that the competition between the parallel developing financing systems explored in the earlier chapters may eventually turn into a race for global development hegemony.
