Blended learning: impacts on the student experience

Abstract

This chapter explores the tools and techniques deployed across educational institutions in the UK, focusing on the impact on student satisfaction. Findings expressed are based on cross-sector experiential research. Areas of presented exploration start with the immediate impact on students. This includes demographical representation and relevant measures to overcome digital poverty. A range of barriers that need to be overcome are identified, in order to help students succeed. The platform of student-staff partnership is critiqued, as a way to demonstrate the importance on deeply embedded collaborative arrangements. The Six Principles of Pedagogical Progress outlined provide a supportive framework, aimed at developing these educational activities with student satisfaction as a pivotal area of concern.
