Abstract

The use of technology to support general learning has been around for some time and accessing information via webinars, podcasts, online video content and TED talks is well known. However, many Universities have been relatively slow to adopt these methods in their provision of education. The advent of the CoVid 19 pandemic changed the landscape for educating students and almost overnight. Faculty had to adopt distance teaching methods. For many members of academic staff this change has meant a steep learning curve. In Leeds we were faced with the further issues that many of the teachers on a medical course were not employed by the University and did not always have access to University systems. Additionally, a significant proportion of teaching took place off campus in clinical environments which were under even more pressure than normal. In this chapter we explain the way we adapted or extended existing resources and developed new ways of supporting teaching and learning for staff and students in our medical school.
