Abstract

Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment (LCSA) data form the basis of any LCSA model. The life cycle perspective and the use of processes and products as building blocks and connecting flows for life cycle models are shared by the life-cycle based techniques covering the three sustainability dimensions: environmental, social and economic. The indicators addressed vary from environmental impacts and resources for environmental LCA, to costs and value added for LCC and social indicators for S-LCA. The reliability and quality of recommendations based on LCSA results is crucial for well-informed decision-making. The aim of this chapter is to summarize data quality aspects and learnings of data assessment for the various sustainability dimensions that build an LCSA, with the chapter demonstrating a practical application based on a case study.
