Abstract

This chapter is for migration studies scholars new to archival and historical research on how to find and critically analyse archival sources for histories of migration understood broadly. It introduces some of the range of migration histories available before discussing archives and their organisation, problems with archival research, the types of archives that might be useful to migration studies scholars, and how to connect sources to each other.
