Abstract

Chapter 8 discusses the expected regulation of autonomous vehicles (AVs), with a focus on contrasting approaches in the US and the EU. Section A analyzes regulatory distinctions between these areas, emphasizing diverse governmental expectations and considering a potential trend toward supporting the use of AVs. Section B considers safety issues, addressing both challenges and opportunities while suggesting an innovative regulatory framework inspired by those utilized for environmental risks or genetically modified foods.
