Abstract

In Chapter 7, we discuss the public road. We assume that autonomous vehicles (AVs) will use the public road system in the foreseeable future. Thus, in this chapter, we explain how roads developed, outline the legal argument for a (possible) ban/limitation on human driving and offer initial thoughts on the impact of AVs on public roads.
