Abstract

Chapter 6 discusses the impact of autonomous vehicles (AVs) on urban developments and, more precisely, how AVs will impact parking spaces within cities. It is a well known fact that parking in condensed city centers becomes a hazard that, on the one hand, limits the city’s ability to expand and, on the other hand, is always in short supply. We believe that AVs could change that equilibrium, making more space for urban development.
