Abstract

The chapter gives an overview of the relevant societal changes and the corresponding developments in choice modelling since the publication of the first edition of this Handbook. It then gives a summary of the specific areas in choice modelling, including related fields, such as psychology, behavioural economics and machine learning, that are covered by the book.
