Abstract

In this chapter we propose how we can create a more inclusive Principles of Microeconomics course. We argue that a course in introductory microeconomics should include three elements of an anti-racist pedagogy. First, it must allow all students to participate and thrive. Second, instructors should be intentional in eliminating differences in student achievement. Third, a microeconomics course should align with our students' personal histories and interests. We present three ways in which instructors can make the content of their microeconomics course more inclusive.
