Abstract

A review of literature of research on ethical certifications in the twenty first century is presented in this chapter. This provides a foundation for the critical exploration of ethical value networks, outlining key debates since the emergence of ethical certifications, focusing in particular on the limitations to their ability to contribute to environmental, social and distributive justice.
