Liberalism

Abstract

The concept of liberalism designates a political philosophy which has many different facets: economic, political, and social. There can be vast differences between them. A liberal, however, will always be concerned with the question of how to enable a societal order which allows for as much individual freedom as possible. Paradoxically, this means that much of liberal theory is concerned with delimiting those freedoms in a reasonable manner.
