Inventive ideas as a driver of technology transfer activity: a case study

Abstract

The concluding proposition from Chapter 5, R&D _ Invention Disclosures _ Patent Applications, is examined in this chapter using data specific to one federal laboratory. That laboratory is the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The proposition holds using data from NIST. And, the relationships are statistically stronger than in the aggregate thus suggesting the need for more laboratory specific case studies.
