Psychological and ontological research on PPPs: what is PPP doing to us?

Abstract

This chapter looks at a small but growing set of research about the psychological/ontological behaviour that is generated in PPP and how it is manifesting outside PPP, or driving change beyond the PPP itself. This set of research is important because it reminds us that what is important about PPP is not only that they work better, effectively, or at all, but also what effect they have on governance, and on society. PPP introduces ways of thinking, being, and acting that are extending well beyond any one PPP, or indeed PPPs in general.
