Reflexive practice

Abstract

Chapter 3 sets out four levels of reflexive practice and explores how these are involved with everyday life and research projects. The first level is embodied reflexive practice, enacted through interoception. The second is emotional reflexive practice, involving perception. Rational reflexive practice is the third level, which operates through personal apperception (composed of closely tied elements of contextualisation and conceptualisation). The final level is relational reflexive practice, involving the reception of unsettling ideas from others and the resolution of meaning through dialogue.
