Abstract

The chapter introduces the readers the motivation and value of compiling an edited collection entitled "A Modern Guide To Creative Economies". Then, it details the new perspectives and reflections on creative economies put forward in the book. In particular, it considers four key dimensions of creative economies research. Firstly, it addresses definitional and methodological challenges; secondly, it provides new perspectives on the theory and practice of creative and cultural entrepreneurship; thirdly it details the role of networks and the importance of place and mobility; and finally, it proposes a re-imagining creative economies in consideration of raising issues of inequality and justice, offering new emphasis on care and solidarity, and opportunities for value recognition.
