The holistic approach to entrepreneurship intentions

Abstract

This chapter examines the incongruence of the multiple regression method with the theory of the phenomenon that it seeks to measure, namely the holistic decision making of individuals. The correlational method suppresses asymmetrical data relationships, allows limited data interdependency, and implies a single sample-average pathway to entrepreneurship. Fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis is shown to reveal multiple pathways to entrepreneurship and asymmetric relationships, where they exist, and to be congruent with the holistic theory of decision making and the heterogeneity of entrepreneurship.
