Typology of the Mexican entrepreneurial return migrant in the Mexico–United States migration corridor

The number of Mexican migrants residing in the United States represents the second largest diaspora in the world. This chapter is based on the exploration of Mexican migrants, who can potentially return from the United States (US), as the main country of residence (COR), and due to the obligation to make a forced return to their country of origin (COO), given the international policies that accelerate this return, constitute a potential group of entrepreneurs in the short and medium-term. The chapter consists of a documentary review on classifications and typologies in which Mexican return migrants fit, as well as the performance of a qualitative investigation carried out on Mexican migrants living in the United States without documentation, who could potentially return to Mexico. The purpose of the chapter is to create a typology to establish a frame of reference for the creation of strategies that encourage entrepreneurial activity.
