Abstract

El capítulo analiza la relación entre la tasa de política monetaria (TPM) y las utilidades del sistema financiero en Colombia, concluyendo que no existe una conexión sistemática entre ambas. Este resultado se debe a la naturaleza impersonal de las decisiones del Banco de la República y a la complejidad de los factores que afectan las utilidades de los bancos. Además, destaca la complejidad de los mecanismos de transmisión monetaria en economías con estructuras financieras concentradas como la de Colombia.
